Hello My Lavender Loving Friends,
It was great to get away for a bit to recharge and plan for the future. However, we sure are happy to be back home. Because like Dorothy said "There's no place like Home".
It's almost the end of September and even though I'll miss Summer, I'm really looking forward to Fall and all things "apple and pumpkin spice". In fact, you'll have to come try our new Handmade Lavender & Pumpkin Spice Soap. It smells so good you'll be tempted to eat it, but please don't. It's made with pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spices and a blend of lavender, cinnamon and clove essential oils. You're gonna LOVE it!! We'll also be offering our famous butter cookies but with a lavender maple glaze and yummy apple lavender muffins.
Autumn is an absolutely beautiful time here on the farm. The Fall colors are absolutely breathtaking and provide the perfect backdrop for photos. Speaking of photos, did you hear about the Explore Mansfield Photo Contest? We've been selected as one of the sites you may use to take your photos. In connection with the photo contest, we will be hosting a free photo lesson on Sunday, October 23 at 10:00 a.m. For more information about the photo contest and the free photo lesson click Township of Mansfield and Explore Mansfield Photo Contest. You may also contact exploremansfield@gmail.com.
The Lavender Farm Stand is being stocked with more of your favorite products. We've added lavender extract which I predict will probably replace your vanilla extract in all your baking. We've also added some fun Autumn decorations and we'll be adding some beautiful Christmas decorations in the coming weeks. Can you believe Christmas is only three short months away!!
Don't forget to get your tickets for the October 20th Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County's Oktoberfest which is being held at Donaldson's Farm. We are proud to support DASACC and their tireless efforts to help those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. We've donated a gorgeous basket filled with some of our best sellers for the silent auction. It's going to be a fun evening and we hope to see you there!! We're thrilled to share some proud moments with you. Recently Czig Meister Brewing Company in Hackettstown created a Lavender Wit Beer using our lavender which they introduced during a fundraising event for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. And, The Frogtown Chophouse in Cresco, PA created a lavender cocktail and a lavender vanilla creme brulee dessert using our lavender syrup which are just heavenly. We will be resuming our normal hours this Friday, September 30th. Just as a reminder, we are open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and also by appointment if you can't make it during normal hours. I'd also like to remind you to please like us on Facebook to get the latest updates. And, please share our page with your friends. Thank you all for your continued support, it means the world to us!! Looking forward to seeing you, Jim & Monica
