Hello Lavender Loving Friends,
I see Purple!!! It won't be long now!!
That's the Good News. The Bad News is that due to the very wet spring and fluctuating temps, some of our lavenders are struggling. Like all crops, our lavenders are at the mercy of Mother Nature.
In the coming days/weeks, we will carefully assess every single plant. We ensure that the base of each plant is carefully cleaned of any debris and weeds. At the same time, we inspect each branch and cut away any dead ones. This is a very time-consuming and physically demanding process, all done by hand that sometimes feels like we're performing surgery! You've all heard me say it's a true labor of love and some days more labor than love HA!!
This is also the time of year when we're flooded with inquiries... "Is the lavender in bloom yet?" We have different cultivars that bloom at different times. Mother Nature determines the bloom times as well as the duration of the blooms.
Our Lavandula Angustifolias (English) are the first to bloom. They typically start to bloom middle of June but could be early this season.
Our Lavandula x Intermedias (French) typically start to bloom beginning of July. They are already forming buds.
Stay tuned for Purple Watch Updates in the coming weeks.
As a reminder, Starting June 7, there will be a $5 per person admission fee (cash only). Children under 10 are free.
When visiting the farm, please keep in mind that this is also our home. We work very hard to maintain the property and ask that you please treat it with respect. Our intention has always been, and continues to be, to share our peaceful oasis with visitors so that they may experience the healing energy that exists here. It is our desire that when our guests leave, they do so a little happier than when they arrived. It gives us great joy seeing our guests enjoying their time here, whether it's connecting with us by sharing personal heartfelt stories and experiences, taking selfies and making memories, or listening to bird songs and watching the bees, butterflies, and dragonflies making their way through the gardens, or just soaking in the sun and enjoying the peace and tranquility.
We hope you support our ability to stay open by visiting the shop and purchasing some of the many handmade artisan lavender products or one-of-a-kind items made by local artisans. When you support us you also support them, and for that, we are truly grateful.
To make your visit more enjoyable, please visit the Important Info Page, as well as, the FAQ Page on our website.
